Delta Air Lines is still having trouble getting back to normal after CrowdStrike’s bad software update caused problems. On Monday, 11% of its flights had to be canceled.
FlightAware says that 421 of its flights, or 11%, are canceled and another 67 are late on Monday.
That’s on top of the 3,768 flights that were canceled in the three days before.
Delta’s competitors aren’t having the same problems. FlightAware reports that 30 American Airlines flights are canceled and 54 are delayed, while only 6 United flights are canceled and 28 are delayed.
CEO of Delta Ed Bastian said in a statement that the tech problem happened on the busiest travel weekend of the summer.
There are a lot of programs at Delta that use Microsoft Windows. One of our tools for tracking crews was affected and couldn’t handle the huge number of changes that happened when the system shut down. He said, “Our teams have been working around the clock to recover and add full functionality.”
Delta said it has given passengers a waiver that lets them change their plans for free and is offering meal vouchers and hotel stays “where available.”

The stock price of DAL -1.54% went up 1% on Friday, but it is still down 13% for the year.
