Target Corp. revealed hundreds of bargains and savings for bargain-hunting customers on Monday along with its holiday employment plans. The first of these is Target Circle Week, which will take place from October 6 to 12.
In order to support pickup, drive-up, and home delivery services, the company TGT 1.97% intends to hire roughly 100,000 more seasonal workers, who will be spread across its stores and supply-chain facilities.
In prepared remarks, executive vice president and chief commercial officer Rick Gomez stated, “Consumers are getting ready for one of the most exciting times of the year, which is why we’re leaning into the magic of Tarzhay like never before—with an assortment, value, and experience only Target can deliver.”
More than half of the toys in the collection are priced under $20, and thousands more stocking stuffers are priced under $5. This is a 50% increase in new items over the previous year. In-store and online, the brand will also be offering discounts on fall favourites, daily necessities, and more.
This holiday season, Target will be the exclusive retailer of over half of its collection.
Included in the Circle Week deal is the Deal of the Day program, which is available to Target Circle loyalty club members starting on November 1 and running until the end of the season.
Target, like many other shops, has been trying to attract customers who are becoming more and more price aware during a protracted period of inflation that has seen an increase in the cost of numerous necessities. Prior to the Memorial Day weekend, the business has already announced price reductions on about 5,000 regularly purchased items in numerous markets.
The strategy is beginning to pay off, as seen by its latest earnings. The second quarter saw an improvement in overall discretionary categories as well as better same-store sales for apparel.
Eighty percent of Target Wondershop holiday items will cost $10 or less, and more than half of the company’s branded holiday food and beverage line will be priced under $5.
There will be fifty family-friendly items under $5 at Target’s Bullseyes’ Playground value section located in front of the store. There will be about 200 stores that carry that segment.
More than 1,000 toys from brands including Disney DIS 1.40%, Lego, and FAO Schwarz will be available via the company. Products for the beauty industry will come from the labels Fine’ry, Being Frenshe, and Papatui.
It’s also renewing its collaboration with British store Marks & Spencer, launching fresh food and drink products, and debuting new home goods including mugs and ornaments with London themes for less than $20.
The S&P 500 SPX 0.54% has gained 18% this year, while the stock has gained 6.3% year to date. The stock was up 0.3% premarket.
